At the History of Science Museum we saw an exhibition called Science and Arts in the Islamic World, sadly no photography was permitted at this exhibition, but I was able to take photos of the other exhibits, as long as I didn’t use a flash, so of course I snapped away happily.

The beauty of these mechanical jewels is astounding.

The Ashmolean

We went to the Ashmolean; once again photos without a flash are ok! The collection here is magnificent. Lawrence of Arabia’s robes and headwear, Asian garments and embroidery. There is an Egyptian gallery which we didn’t get to. Lots of sculpture from different times and areas. It’s a massive place and we were almost at the end of the day and our energy levels were low otherwise we could have stayed the extra hour to closing time at 6pm. By the time we left I needed my umbrella. The light rain that greeted us as we left the Ashmolean, was in fact very light snow, melting by the time it hit the ground.
